FAQ & NEWS

FAQ

  • Why should I choose New 2 Norway instead of the other schools?

New 2 Norway (N2N) is not a public school or site. We are not a school at all, since 2002, we provide unique experiences of Norway by combining language, culture and grammar in one package which gives you, as Norway’s Freia milk's slogan,  “ett lite stykke Norge” (a tiny bit of Norway)!

  • Why should I learn Norwegian in Norway?

First of all, nature! If you have not been to Norway yet, you will be amazed once you step your foot on Norwegian soil and see the beautiful and varied surroundings in the whole country.

What does this have to do with learning Norwegian?

Well, from our experience and student’s feedback, natural environments help with concentration and make lessons just more peaceful and better.

Now, Norway not only has beautiful nature but also varied landscapes and dialects, no standard accent spoken, only written, which makes it challengingly to learn and master Norwegian language, Norway and not at least, Norwegians. Therefore, choose N2N’s language package, where you face real life situations and are forced to speak Norwegian.

If you are into real adventure, natural life, happy vibes, authentic environments with nice people, enrol to New 2 Norway’s language packages!

  • How many lessons do I need to reach a new level?

Since CERF came into practice, the estimate per level is approximate 48 lessons.

Our experience is that N2N’s students have a much more rapid progression and that is why we do not set standard hours to book, like 24 meetings (48 lessons). It depends on your background, education, skills to learn a foreign language, which other languages you speak etc.

  • What is the difference between group and individual (1-1) classes?

New 2 Norway’s groups never have more than max 6 participants at the same level. Since learning is the main focus, our experiences have proved that above this number, people tend to drift off and hide causing that the learning efficiency disappears too.

Individual (1-1) explains, in one way, itself but again you receive the undivided attention from New 2 Norway’s teacher who is attentively focusing on your progression and follow-up and make sure you meet your goal set for your individual lessons.

In a nutshell, this is what you should expect from

    Group lessons

A maximum of 6 persons (minimum of 2),

Dynamic, engaging, fun and practical lessons where you interact with others,

From beginner (-A) to advanced (C+) level (CERF),

  • What is the difference between lesson and meeting?

One lesson equals 45 minutes of teaching while one meeting usually consists of two lessons (90 minutes of teaching).

  • Why do classes start midweek (Intensive Packages)?

Our experiences have proved that having classes from Monday to Friday are not beneficial since most students meet the «wall» the third day, and then not capable to take onboard more knowledge the last two days.

Therefore we decided to train from Wednesday to Friday, have the weekend off to rehearsal and practice, and then start fresh Monday and Tuesday. In this way you get the most of your intensive language package.

  • What is the difference between private and business language packages?

Private language package means that you pay this yourself.

Business language package takes place at your workplace and is paid by your employer.

  • Do I have to buy extra materials?

New 2 Norway provides customised material but if you would like to use or already have any of the teaching books available on the market, you have to bear these expenses yourself.

New 2 Norway has its own materials based on experience teaching thousands of students over the years and using other teaching materials for reference.

When you pay for your language package, this automatically includes customised materials.

New 2 Norway’s CLP vary in content and length, since people are different and have different needs.
