Ustaosetis situated 990 m above sea level, wherethe rail line betweenOslo,in the east, toBergen,at the West Coast, provides year-round access to this high mountain valley. Ustaoset has hotel and mountain resort cabins in the beautifuland breathtaking national park, Hardangervidda, where we explore winter activities in this wonderland.
New 2 Norway's Explore Language Package (ELP) at Ustaoset is an intensive language course where you dive into Norwegian Language, Traditions and Culture where "learn to survive the winter like Norwegians" is the main focus.
You will have 20 (30) lessons over 5 days, or if you are from Germany, you could do this as Bildungsurlaub (30). The lessons last 45 minutes, but this does not mean you will be in front of the whiteboard memorizing words all day long. Not at all!
We have customized an Explore Ustaoset in Winter 2026 where activities such as sauna, cross-country skiing, snow shoes and fishing, again, depending on the interests of participants (minimum 4 and max 6), many activities can be arranged.
What you can expect is not a traditional class but a truly immersive experience.
